Milton James is a poet, novelist, musician, and photographer. Or, at least, he thinks he is. His uncredited photographs appear on the covers of multiple album covers; his voice, bass, and programming is found on several albums; his words huddle like cattle in Of Fanciful Creatures; this solo album from long, long ago is a curio worth at least one listen ( Empire Unknown); as is the three-track EP from that blazing minute at the start of his darkest year, Carmel, or Have You Ever Lost Your Mind?.
